Favorite Stretches of River

When we head out as a family, we with start at either the South Bates access bridge and float to the primary access on Bates/Cedron road. This float can take about 2 hours, depending on the time of year and the amount of water in the river. Our favorite time is to go in the evenings prior to sunset, taking a dinner packed in a small cooler for a stop along the way. You’ll also find us getting in the river at Bates bridge and flowing the 2.5 or so hours down to Rainey Bridge (locals call it “Big Eddy”).
